Calculation of Fees

Fees are calculated by multiplying the weekly sessions total by the 50 weeks we are open, then divided by 12 equal instalments and rounded up to the pound. Although the nursery is closed for 2 weeks in December, the standing order remains the same every month as this is already factored into the calculation.

Nursery Closure

Two weeks at Christmas/New Year — not chargeable as fees are calculated over 50 weeks. The following are fully chargeable and cannot be compensated or refunded: all bank holidays and the first working day back (inset day).

Government Funding

Early Years Funding

Peques is registered with the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham (LBHF) to receive early education funding for eligible children from the term after they turn 9 months old until they start Reception. This government funding is provided for 38 weeks per year. As Peques operates for 50 weeks each year, we stretch the funding across the full year — deducting funded hours from monthly fees and spreading them evenly over 12 months. Please note, we do not offer term-time only places.

Types of Funding Available

15 hours / week

Universal Funding

  • Available to all children from the term after their 3rd birthday.
  • Not means-tested.
  • Stretched across the year as 11.4 hours per week, or 47.5 hours per month.
  • Peques will apply on behalf of families not eligible for Working Parents Funding, provided forms are returned the previous term.
30 hours / week

Working Parents Funding

  • Available to eligible working families from the term after their child turns 9 months old.
  • Means-tested; eligibility reviewed every term.
  • Stretched as 22.8 hours per week, or 95 hours per month.
  • Parents must apply via HMRC Childcare Choices and provide their eligibility code a term in advance.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Both parents (or sole parent in a single-parent household) must be working.
  • Each parent must earn the equivalent of at least 16 hours per week at minimum or living wage.
  • Neither parent can earn more than £100,000 per year.
  • Eligibility codes are valid for three months and must be reconfirmed regularly.

Funding Terms

Headcount Day

Children must attend on LBHF’s official Headcount Day to qualify for funding that term.

If a Child Leaves

  • If a child leaves before Headcount Day and funding has already been applied, the full term’s fees will be payable in full.
  • If a child leaves after Headcount Day, any overpaid funding will be returned to LBHF.

How Funding is Applied

  • Funding is calculated using Peques’ standard hourly rate.
  • It is then evenly distributed over 12 months and applied as a discount on monthly invoices.
  • Government funding does not cover the cost of meals or snacks.

Monthly Invoices Will Show

  • Funded and unfunded hours
  • Meal supplement
  • Optional extras (such as outings and extra-curricular activities)
  • Sibling discount (applied after funding)
  • Total amount payable

Nutrition

Meal Supplement & Opt-Out

A monthly food supplement is charged and varies depending on the child’s age band. Parents may choose to opt out, however specific guidelines must be followed:

  • Meals brought from home must closely match the daily nursery menu in terms of ingredients, presentation and format.
  • Parents will be notified of any allergens present in their child’s group and must ensure home meals do not contain these allergens.
  • This approach promotes allergy safety and supports inclusion during mealtimes.

Failure to follow these requirements may result in the withdrawal of the opt-out option.

Additional Information

  • Monthly Fees must be paid by standing order on the 24th of each month, one full calendar month in advance (e.g. September fees due on 24th July).
  • Funding is non-transferable and cannot be moved to another setting.
  • Missed Sessions (including absences due to sickness, holidays or bank holidays) cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
  • Meal Supplements remain payable for the full month regardless of attendance.

*** Minimum attendance is 3 full days per week.

Registration

How to Register

To begin the process, please email us to check availability. Once we have confirmed availability in writing, we will conditionally reserve the space for 24 hours. Within this timeframe, the completed registration form, the non-refundable £100 registration fee, and the £1,000 deposit must all be submitted. Availability changes daily and the place is not secured until we have received both the completed form and the required funds within the given timeframe.

The deposit is applied per child, not per family. Once your child has attended for a minimum of four full months, the deposit will be credited to the fifth month’s invoice.

Your Child’s First Days

Settling In

At Peques, we work in close partnership with parents and carers to support each child’s transition into nursery. Every child approaches this new experience in their own way — some settle quickly, while others take a little more time to feel fully confident. Our settling-in process is designed to help children become familiar with their new environment, build trusting relationships with their teachers, and feel secure within the daily routine.

Each child will be supported by their Key Person throughout the settling-in period to help build familiarity and a sense of security. Parents are warmly encouraged to contact the nursery at any time during the settling-in period for updates or reassurance about their child’s progress.

Settling In Procedure

The settling-in structure is the same at both Peques settings and is carried out over three days. Session timings differ between Peques Fulham Broadway (PFB) and Peques Parsons Green (PPG).

Day One · Tuesday

Parent stays with child

The parent/carer attends the settling-in session with the child.

  • PFB: 9.15am to 10.15am
  • PPG: 9.30am to 10.30am

The parent/carer remains with the child to introduce them to the nursery environment and support familiarisation with the space, staff and routines.

Day Two · Wednesday

First short separation

The parent/carer attends the first part of the session, then leaves the child with the teachers for the remainder.

  • PFB: Parent stays 9.15am–10.15am; child remains 10.15am–11.15am
  • PPG: Parent stays 9.30am–10.30am; child remains 10.30am–11.30am

The parent/carer must provide a contact number and remain nearby. It is important to say goodbye clearly before leaving — predictable departures help children build trust and confidence.

Day Three · Thursday

Lunch with the group

Provided the child is comfortable with staff and peers, they attend without the parent/carer and have lunch with their group.

  • PFB: 9.00am to 11.45am
  • PPG: 9.30am to 12.00pm

Where a child requires additional time to settle, arrangements may be discussed with the Nursery Manager in partnership with parents.

Important Notes

  • Settling-in sessions take place Tuesday to Thursday regardless of the child’s usual attendance pattern.
  • We recommend the same parent/carer attends all three sessions for consistency. If a different parent/carer will attend, this must be communicated to the nursery in advance.
  • Parents/carers must sanitise hands and wear shoe covers before entering (Peques Parsons Green only — provided on arrival).
  • When entering the Baby Room, parents/carers must check pockets for small or foreign objects that could fall out and pose a risk.
  • Prior to settling in, parents will be invited to register with the Famly app and must complete the ‘All About Me’ form.
  • If a child has any allergy, intolerance or health condition, parents must discuss this with the Manager and complete a Health Care Plan prior to or during the settling-in process.
